Awesome day! <strong><a href="http://ow.ly/8yvcw">Click Link</a></strong> </p>http://stephaniewinn.tumblr.com/post/16105269332http://stephaniewinn.tumblr.com/post/16105269332Thu, 19 Jan 2012 01:05:30 -0500<p>Hey everyone,</p> <p>      Welp yesterday I got back from the university of TN where we helped chi-alpha get the word out about their ministry and invite people to the concert they were hosting on Thursday&#8230;I had a blast hanging out with the Chi-Alphan&#8217;s and talking to the students on campus.</p> <p>      God used the whole team in different ways and it was really exciting to watch everyone do what God asked them to do and see how everyone&#8217;s personality came through as they were witnessing.</p> <p>Here&#8217;s how God used me: Day one- I was uncomfortable, akward, and was really thankful to be walking around with another student from Chi-Alpha. We got to talk with two different girls that were looking for christians on campus and hooked them up with Chi-Alpha&#8230;.</p> <p>Day two- After spending sometime in prayer and trusting God to use me we hit the campus up again, and this time I felt more comfortable and confident. That afternoon I was walking around with Chi-Alphan, Hannah, trying to find someone to talk to. we went into one of the food courts where initially I didn&#8217;t find anyone. we were about to leave when I decided to go to the back tables. Here we found a young muslim woman from Jordan she is here in America studying to become a social worker back in Jordan. We got to talk about several different things and she ended up inviting us to attend a festival with her, however I was heading back to GA. So it wasn&#8217;t possible. Please be praying her as Hannah and I keep in contact with her.</p> <p>Day three- Night of the concert :)&#8230;. I was walking around and saw this young woman wearing some cute clothes sitting by herself and so I just walked up and told her I liked her outfit, and we started talking from there. She came to the concert that night and we had fun talking. We talked about logic and faith and how religion fits into that. Then it was funny as we were talking a baptist girl came up and started asking me if I was going to hell. She said stuff like once saved always saved. The girl I was talking with was confused after the baptist girl left so it allowed us to continue our conversation about Jesus, religions, and the like&#8230;</p> <p>&#8230;Later that night&#8230;I saw this girl sitting on the side-walk, I was by myself and just went up and said hey and sat down. Randomly, God told me she has two pet rats, she&#8217;s lactose intolerant, and she was a vet major. I was really confused about the rats but it opened up our conversation. She said the others who had tried to talk to her about religion she had told them that she was an atheist so they wouldn&#8217;t lecture her. But she and I talked for several hours where I got to share with her about Jesus and his grace and mercy but also how he is just. She was brought up catholic and still has that mindset that God is going to punish her, and that christians will go through the tribulation where they have to prove themselves to God. The next morning I was leaving so I invited her out to Starbucks early that morning so we could continue our convo. She and I are still connecting and talking things Through.</p> <p>God is totally breaking me out of my comfort zone and teaching me a whole lot about the Bible and trusting him. You learn alot about what you believe through talking about it with other people&#8230;During one of these days at UT Pastor Chuck, the Chi-Alpha pastor, who has the gift of prophesy prayed over each one of us. God showed him for me a vision of Flags lined up as far as he could see he said the Nations would be my inheritance and this year would be a year of learning to trust God. I&#8217;m excited to see how everything turns out, and how God will use me and the team.</p> <p>I love you all!!! We are all family here and we have a great time together. </p> <p>Over the last few weeks I have been learning A LOT!!!! not only academically but spiritually as well. Academic wise we have been doing Berean which is basically a study of the history, culture, and geography of the Bible. </p> <p>God has been teaching me so much that I&#8217;m not sure I can put it all in one blog, but I&#8217;ll try&#8230; Right now we are reading &#8220;Bondage Breaker&#8221; where it talks about spiritual warfare and knowing who you are in Christ so that you can combat the attacks of the enemy. One major thing I&#8217;m learning in this book is who we are in Christ. In Christ we have NO condemnation, we are born of god and Satan CANNOT touch us, We are children of God, We are secure in God, We are the head and not the tail, we have been justified, We Cannot be separated from the love of God, and We are God&#8217;s temple. For me personally I have been just claiming that over my life and accepting the authority I have over Satan in Jesus name so that whatever he tries to attack me with I will be ready and know who I am and where I stand. There are more things I could add to the list but I am going to keep going. Not only am I learning this but I am also learning about perspective and how important this can be in having victory over spiritual battles. One example in the book is the story of David and Goliath &#8220;The army saw Goliath in relation to themselves and trembled; David saw Goliath in relation to God and Triumphed&#8221;. No matter what were facing financial issues, health issues, emotional issues whatever, if you put it in relation to our God There is no way you will EVER fail&#8230;.like I said I have learned so much here at Missio Dei and its been great. We had &#8216;Boot camp&#8217; and it seriously tested me physically and emotionally And spiritually.</p> <p>Day 1. We were split into two teams and dropped off in the woods and told to build a shelter. We were given 12 trash bags, a role of duct tape, electrical tape, and twine. They were nice enough to give us bug spray as well *thank you Jesus!!*. After we built our shelters we walked back to the house and had dinner, which was really good. Then we went back to our &#8216;shelters&#8217; and slept there that night, and since my air mattress was electric the dirt became my cozy bed. I was lucky to have my sleeping bag. However, the GA heat was good enough for me to just sleep on top of it. I tossed and turned most of the night and usually ended up off my sleeping bag and in the dirt, but I didn&#8217;t mind I just rolled back over to my sleeping bag and went back to sleep. I know I got some sleep that night because I had a nightmare, but I did get sleep. </p> <p>Day 2. The torture begins!!!!! We started off by taking eggs and blowing the yolk out of them (puncture the top and bottom of an egg with a nail and then blow). We wrote our names on them. We were also given a 25lb bag of flour to caring around all the time. We named it havier, and he could never touch the ground if he did we would have to do squats. Havier represented our burdens and how we have to help carry each others burdens. Then we all headed outside&#8230; Outside we proceeded by doing an indian run, bur-pees (an awkward exercise), squats, and push-ups. One of the guys ended up puking and one of the girls almost passed out. Everyone then locked arms in a circle facing out, and put the egg shells in the middle, the shells represented our hopes, dreams, and future. Our goal was to protect the shells as our leaders attacked us, attempting to crush our eggs. This station was to teach us about caring for one another. Then we walked to the next station. In-order to teach us Creativity as a team we had to come up with a poem and then a cheer. Next was our handicap hike. Each person was handed a card on which had different handicaps for example one person would be blind, or have one leg, or one arm, or no arms, or mute, or had to hop. Two people were leaders. Everyone had to stay connected and could never let go of one another. I was a leader. Which physically may have been one of the easiest, however, to me personally was one of the scariest. On the handicap hike we had to do a &#8216;indian run&#8217; of sorts. We all stood connected in a straight line on a yellow rope. The person at the end had to go to the beginning without stepping off the rope and losing connection with the group. This taught us communication&#8230;BIG TIME&#8230; Then we walked to the next part which was where we had to somehow get a person under a rope with out touching the ground (the rope was very close to the ground) and then lift them up above a rope, and by that time we were physically drained and we all wanted to quit!. But we got through that and then we could finally take off our &#8216;handicaps&#8217;. We then &#8216;monkey&#8217; walked to our next station. But wait it can&#8217;t be that easy to just &#8216;monkey&#8217; walk. We were stopped and four of us had to hang off the two people beside us as they walked caring our weight. Finally we get to the next station. We lined up our backs to the leaders and were pelted with water balloons. We then turned around and were given a card with a persons name on it. This station was confrontation and affirmation. We were given a few minuets to pray and ask god what we should tell this person. Then we lined up and one by one stood in front of the person and told them something good we noticed about them and something that we think they need to work on. Then all the girls stood across from one of the men and we had to look them in the eyes and we promised one another that we would not make each other stumble. And the men promised to protect the girls. Then the leaders took our place and we got to pelt them with the rest of the water balloons which officially ended &#8216;the trail of tears&#8217; *thats what we called it, and it literally was a long trail of our sweat and tears*. This brought us so close together it was unbelievable. We were all in so much pain and wanted to quit but together we got through it. At the end of the day we paired off and wrote a &#8216;tag-team&#8217; sermon, and then shared it with the others. It was my first sermon EVER and I was super nervous, but God helped me through it. </p> <p>Day 3. We cleaned up ate breakfast and headed home. :)</p> <p>Thank you all who have been praying for me, and supporting me in my Journey.
